Many resources are left unused in our world today.
We aspire to identify and create new value from such unused resources and by producing new products and services we will create a regenerating and circular society.
Our business comes together when we coexist with our natural environment and involving ourselves with the local communities. From farmers to large corporations, from people living in the cities to people living in rural areas, all around the world. Our goal is to learn from such stakeholders and to create a new and sustainable business together.
Through our business, we will constantly create a positive impact to the environment and society, related parties and to all our stakeholders.
We will always balance the two positive impacts, business and social goals no matter how large our company or business may become.
Our hope is for our products and services and the circular society which we bring would be a part of everyone’s daily life as soon as possible and that our ideal society would become reality by working together. We at Fermenstation will continue to challenge until we realize this goal.

Fermenstation will promote its business based on commitments from the following five perspectives in order to simultaneously pursue the positive impacts of business and social.

Our business coexists with nature, creating a positive impact on the natural environment. Fermenstation will promote the utilization of unused resources in a way which can be objectively recognized as having a low environmental impact, and that can constantly be visualized so that the process and results can be improved.

  • We minimize waste by agressively adopting farm produce, residue from beverage and food factories, all of which have been thrown away as industrial waste, as ingredients for our products.
  • We will improve the environment and conservation of biodiversity through through the development of raw materials and products created by recycling and using fallow and idle rice paddies.
  • Our manufacturing will be done in a work environment with a low environmental load, such as utilizing renewable energy.
  • Our manufacturing process will utilize minimal water resources and minimize energy consumption.
  • We will also effectively use the fermented residue from our manufacturing process and realize a no-waste production.
  • We will conduct life cycle assessments of our entire production cycle including our raw materials through calculating CO2 emissions and energy consumption.
  • We will actively use naturally derived raw materials for our material and product development.
  • We will actively use organic, organically grown or non-GMO raw materials for our material and product development.
  • We will actively adopt packaging materials with low environmental load.
  • We will actively adopt well-recognized third-party certification to show objectively that our products are of low environmental load or that we are using organic or naturally derived materials (such certification include; rice used as raw material for our ethanol: JAS certified organic rice, organic rice ethanol: USDA NOP certified/ECOCERT COSMOS certified, rice mash: USDA NOP certified/ECOCERT COSMOS certified)
  • Each employee will work from the perspective of reducing the environmental burden as much as possible.
  • Prioritize efforts with suppliers and partners who value environmental friendliness.

  • Prioritize efforts with suppliers and partners who value coexisting with local communities and societies.

In order to constantly aim for growth that balances sociality and business, it is important to monitor from multiple perspectives whether business development is being carried out from the perspectives of various stakeholders. We will build a necessary and sufficient compliance system and practice active information disclosure and communication.

  • We will comply with various laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which we operate.
  • We will communicate with stakeholders such as consumers, customers, employees, partners, suppliers, and shareholders in a highly transparent manner, and fulfill accountability through appropriate disclosure.
  • We will respect the diversity of directors and employees, including those outside the company, and realize a diverse team.

  • We will create a working environment where employees can learn through work and realize well-being for each other.
  • We do not have a relationship with antisocial forces through all our businesses.

The correct answer to a business or business model that truly achieves a balance between business and sociality is not given from others, but is something we create ourselves. Fermenstation will always make decisions that achieve both social and business goals in every decision-making situation, and actively pursue the profitability necessary for that purpose.

  • We will thoroughly implement our “environmental” and “social” commitments in all business decisions.
  • We will continue to evolve to create new value by building the optimal business portfolio and business model to realize our purpose and commitment so that we can expand our vision globally.
  • We will work together with a variety of partners and suppliers who share a common vision, sympathizing with each other’s purpose and commitment.
  • As a company pursuing profitability, we will continue to generate profits and reinvest as necessary to maintain both sociality and business feasibility.
  • We will not sacrifice our social goals in pursuit of growth, but we will also not focus solely on sociality that will damage our business.

The products we develop are a means to fulfill the Purpose and Commitment of Fermenstation to the world. Even in situations where it is difficult to balance business and sociality, we will continue to create new value by carefully making decisions at each site constantly learning, thinking, and acting.

  • We will thoroughly realize our commitment to the “environment” and “society” in every product development.
  • We will not conduct animal testing.
  • Maximize the potential of resources by extracting as many deliverables from one raw material as possible. (Example: Extracting ethanol + fermented lees from rice and using it for other purposes)
  • We will prioritize using raw materials whose origin is completely known, such as the place of production and the origin of resources, and ensure that the entire manufacturing process can be traced. (Example: When and who planted rice and harvested rice, when the rice was fermented and distilled, etc.)
  • We will prioritize the use of environmentally friendly containers and packages, and actively work to reuse them as well. (100% recycled recycled plastic, biodegradable sheets, etc.)
  • In addition to considering the environment and society, it is important not only to be functional, but also to develop a product that enriches peoples’ lives in the way of smart design, pleasant fragrance and one that will blend in with the everyday life of the customer.
