JR East Japan
JR East Japan, one of the major railway operators in Japan had an apple cider manufacturing subsidiary where they had a need in turning their apple scraps into something valuable than being thrown away as industrial waste. Fermenstation, with its original fermentation and distillation technology turned it into ethanol which was used as a room spray diffuser. Fermenstation’s uniqueness doesn’t stop here. The fermented residue is being used as cattle feed for local cattle farmer and is now being served as prime beef for hotel and exclusive train restaurants.
Fermenstation continues to challenge in changing unused resources (or waste) into value-added products. In particular, food scraps coming from food and beverage production, has the potential to be turned into something anew starting from our high value-added ethanol to a biomaterial no one has ever imagined. We strive to innovate by improving our technology and processes.
